Certificate Requirements

Certificate in Entertainment Management

Students of Entertainment Management must be registered students of The University of Montana.

This specialized Certificate in Entertainment Management is designed to allow students to learn and demonstrate advanced skills in specific areas related to careers in the business of entertainment.

Students must complete the following courses of study for certification in entertainment management:

 

Required Courses:

MGMT 401: Event Management; offered Fall only

MGMT 402: Advanced Principles of Entertainment Management 1; offered Fall, Spring

MGMT 403: Advanced Principles of Entertainment Management 2; offered Fall, Spring only

 

Plus three of the following courses (required):

MAR 111A: Fundamentals of Integrated Digital Arts

R-TV 151: Introduction to Radio-Television Production

FIN 228: Personal Financial Planning and Investment; offered intermittently - check with Dr. Herron, Chair of the Accounting & Finance Department

MGMT 295: Special Topics in Entertainment Management; offered Fall only

MGMT 320E: Business Ethics; offered Fall, Spring

MGMT 395: Special Topics in Entertainment Management; offered Fall only

MGMT 420**: Leadership and Motivation; offered Fall, Spring

MGMT 495: Special Topics in Entertainment Management

MIS 477: Multimedia Development for Business; offered intermittently - check with Dr. Jones, Chair of the Information Systems Department

MKTG 411*: Services and Relationship Marketing; offered intermittently - check with Dr. Uhlenbruck, Chair of the Management & Marketing Department

MKTG 412: Nonprofit Marketing; offered intermittently

MKTG 413: Sports Marketing; offered Fall only
