Spring Semester 2010 Begins

Ellen Buchanan, Founder of River City Roots Fest, Instructs Students

Founder of River City Roots fest, Ellen Buchanan, visited MGMT 401 Event Management in the Entertainment Management program on October 19. Buchanan drafted the idea for a free late summer  downtown street festival in Missoula. She worked with the Missoula Downtown Association to promote the festival. Buchanan has experience from planning the Blue Plum festival in Johnson City, TN.

Alex Kochan, AEG Live, Instructs Students

Alex Kochan visited Entertainment Management on Monday, October 26, to offer insight into promoting and booking live shows.

Duncan Webb, Author of Running Theaters, Instructs Students

Duncan Webb spoke to MGMT 295: Venue Management on October 1 via conference call. One of the first questions asked of him concerned his thoughts on the new events center set to be built in Missoula.

Matt Anderson, co-owner of Porch Productions, met with students in MGMT 395: The Business of Film & Television, on September 22.

Carl Posewitz, Paradigm V2 Architects, Instructs Students

Carl Posewitz visited the Entertainment Management program on October 15 to discuss the renovation of the University Theater in MGMT 295 Venue Management. Posewitz is an architect who currently resides in Missoula, Montana. He practices his architecture with a firm called Paradigm V2 Architects, a Montana based company.

James Yelich Teaches Class

James Yelich was a great resource for students in the Venue Management class.
