Steve Anderson
Chairman, CEO - Artisans Doors of Montana
An international business leader and well-known consumer products executive with over twenty years of global experience, Mr. Anderson has a successful track record in key senior executive roles for Fortune 500 companies, including $7 billion Bass and $2 billion Bausch & Lomb. He was a former manager for the iconic rock act, "REO Speed Wagon". He has also orchestrated numerous high-growth business expansions for key divisions in four continents, including the US, Asia, Europe, and South America.
Mr. Anderson has been responsible for the development and roll out of growth strategies on a local, regional, and global basis for leading consumer and medical products such as Bass Ale, Ray Ban, and Renu. Throughout his career, he has achieved rapid international expansion by orchestrating the acquisition of many new businesses and divisions. He has also built new manufacturing and distribution operations in developing countries around the world.
Widely known for his expertise on global business development and operations, Mr. Anderson possesses a keen understanding of issues relating to entry to market, the critical difference between success and failure in this arena. He has been a featured speaker and lecturer for industry groups, governments, universities and professional organizations. His topic of discussion focuses on developing and conducting business on a global scale. He also contrasts the operations of businesses in Asia with the operations of businesses in the US. Lastly, Steve addresses the ethical parameters for doing business in Asia and also contrasts them with the ethical parameters for doing business in the US.
Mr. Anderson has also served as a member of numerous boards. Significantly, he has enjoyed a long tenure as an executive in Asia and still conducts considerable business throughout China where he served as the Chairman and key member of the investment committee for strategic development of one of the first holding companies in China.
Most recently, Mr. Anderson made a significant lifestyle change and reversed his home base back to the USA at the end of 2000 for a planned period of 4 to 5 years. During this period he and his wife were lucky enough to have a child, establish their new residence in Montana and invest in a number of small unique businesses. Over this period, he has built up a successful high-end custom door business, Artisans Doors of Montana that is experiencing 50% or greater annual growth and starting to expand on a national and selected international basis. He also sits on a number of boards for some unique small to medium high growth firms in the Northwest.
