Entertainment Management I, MGMT 402.01

  • What: As a student in the spring courses, you will be introduced to the fundamental aspects of the entertainment business. Topics of discussion during the first session include artist development and management, productions, promotions, and venue management and marketing.
    Students will produce an artist development plan. The minds behind the scenes of the entertainment industry are involved in developing, presenting, and sustaining not only an artist’s career, but also the companies that support the entertainment industry. As a student, you will learn about these aspects and use these skills to create your plan.

Introduction to Entertainment, MGMT 403.01

  • When: Saturdays 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Where: GBB L09
  • What: Students build on the concepts learned in MGMT 402. Topics discussed throughout this second session include tour development and marketing, agency relations and responsibilities, and new forms of entertainment media and distribution.
    As a student, you will produce an event management plan. This includes development of business plans, simulating the routing of tours, reviewing artist/entertainer contracts and budgets, and constant address and debate of critical issues facing the entertainment industry.
